With spring in full bloom on the Northshore, it must mean music is also in full stride! We are so fortunate to have a plethora of opportunities to enjoy live music, now more than ever. Here are three upcoming events to mark on your calendar.

Island Time

Once on this island

Enjoy the sights and sounds of the popular musical, beginning April 16 at Slidell Little Theatre.

Anytime I can catch a musical or play at Slidell Little Theatre, it is always time well-spent. Beginning April 16 and running through May 2, Once On This Island is being performed on Friday and Saturday nights, with matinees on Sundays. The musical tells the story of a young woman’s journey to find her place in the world while searching for the man who captured her heart. For tickets, click here.

Chillin’ Time

I was excited to see that Fermin Ceballos is on the lineup to perform at Chillin’ at the River on April 22. Ceballos is a talented, multi-instrument musician from the Dominican Republic. He is sure to bring an amazing performance of Latin music, and we are sure to be dancing as if no one is watching! The entire month is packed with outstanding artists, so check out the schedule here.

Jazz Time

Pontchartrain Vineyards is always a hot spot Saturday evenings with Jazz’n the Vines. Both last spring and fall events were cancelled due to the pandemic, however there is a full schedule set for April, May and June. The season opens on April 10 with Gal Holiday and the Honky Tonky Revue. One of my favorites, Debbie Davis, is performing on April 24 with the Mesmerizers. No matter which concert you attend, you will surely enjoy the sounds of regional musicians while sipping wine under the stars. Bring your lawn chairs and picnic basket of goodies, and drinks may be purchased at the venue. The fun starts at 6:30 p.m.

These events are three more reasons why living up on the Northshore is such a treat. They are truly music to our ears!
