With a recent free Sunday, I immediately thought of heading down to one of my favorite towns on the Northshore. I always enjoy my time in Abita Springs, from the Abita Brew Pub to the Tammany Trace Trailhead. Here are three unique stops to enjoy! Springs Stop #1 – So Much to See I picked a fantastic day, as the weather was glorious to walk around the Abita Springs Art and Farmers Market. I scored a jar (or three) of delicious blueberry jam, along with purple cauliflower and locally made honey. As for the handmade soaps, I truly cleaned up!

You will be doggone happy in June, enjoying the delicious taste of local brews! We love our craft beer on the Northshore. And who doesn’t love puppies? In June, you have the opportunity to enjoy some tasty brews while supporting a very worthy cause, the Northshore Humane Society. Two for One Every Sunday in June (and just about every Sunday throughout the year), you can spend a day out with your four-legged friend, snag a free beer and support the Humane Society. For every brew you purchase at Chafunkta Brewing Company, the second one is on the house.

Bush is a quaint town in St. Tammany Parish, just 20 miles north of Tamanend. I wrote about the fantastic Wild Bush Farm and Vineyard in last month’s post. The town is worth mentioning again, as it has a variety of activities and events to enjoy in May. Bushelful #1 – Around the Town We love anything crawfish on the Northshore, and that includes the Crawfishman Triathlon. This year’s race is set for Sunday, May 22, 7:30 a.m. With a course running along scenic country roads, the Crawfishman Triathlon features 1,000-meter and 400-meter swim options. The bike course is an

While there is a plethora of Krewe parades to attend, the Northshore boasts some of the most enjoyable in my opinion. Here are three upcoming ones sure to please. Mardi Gras 2022 is in full parade extravaganza mode! Krewe of Bilge (Slidell) – Saturday, February 12, noon I love a parade, and even more so when it is on water! With the New Year upon us, I typically post a year-end review. We all know it has been another interesting year, to say the least. For this year's "reflection," I turn my thoughts on Northshore Technical Community College (NTCC). The college's main campus is located at Tamanend, with a focus on STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). This amazing educational institution anchors the Innovation District, with two buildings and outdoor classroom. There is so much to appreciate about NTCC, including these three notable highlights: Tamanend is home to NTCC's main campus. The Approach Beginning with Chancellor Dr. William
