In St. Tammany Parish, any day here is a fun day! With so many things to do, places to go and events to attend, the choices are aplenty. Here are three fun times to enjoy in July:
Fun Day #1 – Covington
Get into beach mode at the Fifth-Annual Kokomo Stroll, set for July 10.
Get out those Hawaiian shirts, grass skirts and flip flops, and stroll on down to Historic Downtown Covington on July 10! The Kokomo Stroll is back, and you are sure to have some light-hearted fun. The fifth-annual event, sponsored by the Covington Business Association, lets us stroll through downtown hitting up tents with food and beverages. Of course, there will be Buffet-style beach music. The festivities run from 3:30 – 7 p.m., and I recommend you leave the kiddos at home for this one and take some time with friends. For more details and tickets, click here.
Fun Day #2 – Slidell
Slidell also has lots to offer on the second Saturday in July, with two fun events sure to bring smiles. First up is the Olde Towne Slidell Art Market, featuring work by eclectic artists and makers, along with live music, at Green Oaks Apothecary, 4 to 9 p.m. That evening, head over to Heritage Park for a screening of “Yesterday,” an entertaining movie based on the premise of what the world would be like without the Beatles. Be sure to bring lawn chairs or a blanket, and coolers are allowed! Be ready with the popcorn at 8:30 p.m.
Fun Day #3 – Mandeville
My favorite board game from childhood is definitely “Clue,” so anytime I can relive those fun times, I am in! Beginning July 17 on weekends through the end of the month, 30 by Ninety Theatre offers performances of the wacky whodunit at 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, along with Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m. 30 by Ninety Theatre always delivers, and if it is anything like the film, we may have a variety of endings!
